how much seroquel for insomnia?

if you’re taking it for insomnia, how many milligrams do you take at night? my doctor started me at 100mg and said i could increase it, but i’ll be up to 400mg tonight and i still don’t feel anything at all…i’m still up all night. i don’t know if 400mg is too much and i should stop increasing it or what..and i can’t speak with her until monday.

i have the same problem with other medications that are supposed to make me sleep. they don’t do anything.

Counterintuitively, Seroquel is more sedating at lower doses. When used as a sleep aid the normal dosage is approximately 25-100mg at bedtime. Higher doses are not recommended as sleep aids.

I do not know what you are looking for in a sleep aid.

If you take caffeine or alcohol you need to drop it.

Seroquel is an atypical antipsycotic drug and is not meant to be used as a simple sleep aid. These types of drugs promote weight gain and diabetes.
