I need some advice on a family problem.?

So my family and I have always had trouble getting along. For whatever reason, I just don’t fit in here. We’ve fought for as long as I can remember– it probably has something to do with the insomnia I was born with; the lack of sleep makes me very iritable–, but I recently started smoking marijuana for relief from the insomnia. Now I don’t want any replies saying things like "you smoked pot, you f*cked up your life" because I’ve done all the research and marijuana is the safest and most effected treatment for insomnia, as I’ve tried everything in the book. At any rate, while I was getting good sleep from smoking, (by the way, I use a vaporizer) I was able to hold back a lot of my hatred. My friend got caught by his parents a few weeks ago, and his parents told my parents that I do too and they lost it. At anyrate, things are unbearable at my house, and I’m trying to find a way to move out. My friends mom (whom I’m very good friends with), offered to let me move in. My parents are fine with me moving out, but they refuse to let me do so as long as they are still responsible for me. They’re afraid of the police showing up at their house with me in the back of the cruiser when I don’t even live their. I would like to emancipate myself but I’m 15 and don’t have a job, so it would take a while to do that. What would you recommend I do?

Tough situation. Stay calm because no good ever comes from you escalating the arguments.
You are also not going to get too far with your explanation that you studied the various issues about smoking or vaporizing herb. 15 year olds are not known for their levelheadedness. However, your research is valid, depending on the approach and your parents openness you may have a chance with them if you stay calm and hold on to the true aspects of what you have to say and avoid statements or situations that make their hearing you correctly more difficult.
We should have the right to make choices about our health and the drugs for insomnia are not very good. The most common over the counter drugs are downright bad for you, don’t really cure insomnia and produce an annoying hangover effect. Sometimes going to a facility that specializes in sleep disorders can be helpful. I haven’t heard very many good things about the prescription medications either.
Unfortunately smoking/vaporizing at your age is considered unwise as it causes what is termed "amotivational disorder" also called laziness and some memory problems. You will have to deal with these issues as well.
    Best of luck.
By the way, unbearable is a very strong word, and the situation may change. Stay calm if you can. The worst part is over, they know now. They may be able to deal better if you stay focused and realistic. Your parents may never be thrilled with your choice, but they may find a way to accept it.
