sleeping pills side effects on personality????
ok so i want to know if i start taking sleeping pills prescribed by my doc for insomnia will my personality change or will i become like a diiferent person almost like boring or zombie like??and im not askin on every drug just the ones 4 insomnia…
and can someone please give me a quick summary of what insomnia exactly means….

Sleeping pills will not have an effect on your personality, they will just help you sleep. I could see your personality change if you took it in the morning or during the day because you’ll be sleepy! Insomnia is basically not being able to fall asleep at night, and I know there is much to it, but I hope this helps a little.
November 27th, 2009 at 2:16 pmIt depends on what class of drugs that your sleeping pill will fall under.
If it’s trazodone then you’re basically taking a tetracyclic anti-depressant and you might get side-effects pertaining to those class of drugs.
If you’re taking a benzodiazepine (clonazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, diazepam, etc) then I’d say it’s definitely not worth getting an addiction. GABA-ergic drugs all provide a similar down-regulation of the primary inhibitory receptors called GABA. This pretty much means a temporary state of hyper-vigilence of your central nervous system when you decide to stop taking the medication. This basically means the withdrawal is nasty.
If you’re taking a non-benzodiazepine (aka the "z-drugs", eg: zolpidem, zopiclone, etc), expect a very similar albeit lighter version of benzodiazepines.
Basically all of these drugs will just give you temporary relief. I would suggest to use them only short-term. Your body just isn’t meant to take sedative drugs everyday.
Nothing gained artificially doesn’t take back without interest.
