Taking clonidine for insomnia?

I'm 15, 5'7", 105lbs…my doctor prescribed me clonidine for my chronic insomnia. I've been noticing my feet and hands are really cold(colder than usual because they normally are anyways), my body parts easily fall asleep, and my heart beats go from normal to extremely slow to super fast to kind of slow…so i tried not taking it for a night and i was so paranoid i was being watched by someone or something. when i was taking it i would have these crazy nightmares that when i woke up i could still hear it going on…should i stop taking it now since ive already gone 1 night or should i take this dose and wait for my doctor who prescribed it to me when he knew i have a low blood pressure to begin with.
yes im sure its clonidine and im taking .2mg
and family history of schizophrenia so that might be part of it

clonidine is used for hypertension but also for insomnia and attention deficit dis/hyperactivity dis. sounds like maybe your blood pressure is falling too low which can cause a decrease in blood perfusion to the hands and feet, which can make them feel cold. Also the drop in blood pressure can cause your heart rate to increase to compensate. definately talk with your physician prior to the next dose!

Clonidine is a drug that should not be stopped abruptly. You need to taper the doses in order to avoid a serious hypertensive crisis. Call your doctor and he will help you slowly taper the dose (like take half of the pill for awhile) down so that you don't have to go through this. Sudden withdrawal is very dangerous.

Clonidine is a med for high blood pressure. Sure it is not Klonopin? If you somehow got the wrong medicine, TAPER the clonidine off, do not stop it abruptly.

I'd second Aud's answer. Sudden withdrawl is not recommended. Try to get an early appointment with the Physician. Your symptoms sound odd though.
